I am currently working on a paper on the Sustainability of Music in Paganism. This project is part of my work in Pagan Music that I have been doing for the past five years. I will be presenting this paper at the Pagan Conference in Claremont at the end of January 2010, and perhaps part of a future book on Pagan Music. In order to understand more on Pagan Music it is the community that would have answers and input. For this reason I reach out and ask members of the Pagan Community for some answers. Just finished watching season 1 of Sons of Anarchy, I was going to download season 2 over night but I'm really rethinking it now, want more episodes now!. Such a fantastic show. I love Jax, he's sweet, despite being in the biker gang and beating people up. I also have soft spots "Half Sack" aka "Prospect" and "Juice". Though I've had a soft spot for the actor playing Juice since Veronica Mars and Jericho.

I'm bored so Charlie Hunnam mini picspam!!

Boxing Day sales at Chadstone were crazy this year (Guess was the worse, people hoarding 5-6 bags, could hardly move, not surprising with 50% off everything) . We (brother and I, parents had a party at a friend's in the afternoon) left at 7AM, and there was a long line of cars at the exit for Chadstone on the freeway. We got a spot pretty easy, but we parked pretty far away as they were the only spots left, because it was about 7:30AM, and it opened at 7AM, no one was ready to leave yet. We were there a lot longer than expected, we left around 12:30-1PM.

In the end I got the True Blood calendar from Borders ($12.50, was $24.99), Ksubi jeans from David Jones ($153.96, was $219.95), a shirt from Country Road ($44.95, was $99), and a jacket from SuperDry ($169.95, wasn't on special). I also brought a Gucci bag (on Thursday, $1950 *cringes*), and ordered a pair of Orginal Ray Ban Wayfarers (from a friend at a duty free place, she's going to order them Tuesdays so I don't know how much till then or when they'll come in, though I got about $300 off on my last pair of sunglasses from there).

I also have about 30GB peak, and 40GB off peak of bandwidth left to use till the 1st. What do people suggest I use it on? i.e some shows, movies, music, etc. Right now I'm downloading Sons of Anarchy (it might be because I think Charlie Hunnam is easy on the eyes). ETA: WUT?! Charlie Hunnam is British?! Whoa! I've seen this photo of him somewhere before. Maybe people's Twilight casting?

It's past midnight here which means... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

I always used to think I liked giving gifts because it's fun to make other people happy. But I just noticed how good it felt to give little holiday presents to my office-mates, and realized that I was getting a happy-buzz off of the surprise!intrigued!happy that each person gave off when I gave them their little package.

I wasn't giving the gifts just so that I could get buzzed, but it's an interesting thing. When I think about it, there's probably no social interaction with anyone that doesn't have some small shading of empathic resonance. How much of my behavior is unconsciously geared to affect those shadings? Do I smile at strangers for their benefit, or for mine, or for the general principle of increased-happiness-is-good? And even if it's selfish to be friendly... is that actually bad? (I vote no.)

On the flip side, I know that I compromise or give in sometimes in situations involving negativity, just to sidestep being surrounded by that cloud of uncomfortable emotion. I guess it would be like unconsciously/habitually turning up the thermostat if I felt chilly. Sometimes it's an acceptable adaptive choice, but it would probably be better for me to be aware of it so that I can consciously decide whether it's something I want to do or not. I guess in this analogy, grounding and centering and standing my ground would be equivalent to putting on a sweater, changing my own state instead of changing the environment.

Still, it's hard to be 100% aware of the empathic state of every situation (just like most of the time I don't think about the physical temperature of my environment). Even with increased mindfulness in extreme situations, I'm likely to continue unconsciously taking action to spin the everyday empathic environment around me to "comfortable".

I don't know that that's necessarily a bad thing. Just thinking it over and curious how other people think about it. :)

For some reason if I nap in the afternoon I'll often get a head ache, which really sucks because sometimes I get so tired or bored. Anyway napped in the afternoon today and woke up with a terrible head ache, worse than I've ever had.

Took some panadol which did no good, then thought maybe a shower would help, which it didn't. Puked a few times. Then just sat in the living room, my Mum rubbed some stuff on my head, which helped and fell asleep.

It's better now, but my whole family has gone shopping. I wanted to go but didn't want to risk getting sick again, since there is still traces of the head ache. Now I'm hungry, since I skipped dinner.

I've been meaning to post about stuff, hopefully I won't get lazy and do it soon.
